1. Why would they have an old custom for hanging effigies, setting bonfires, and brawling in the streets? I mean something else would probably be more productive than hanging a dummy and causing random chaos.
2. Why didn't the men who started the mobs try to come up with some kind of idea to stop the mobs? I know the mobs got out of control and there was no control over them, but if they could start it, they should be able to stop it no matter how difficult.
3. Why did the mob attack Thomas' house but not Andrew's? Andrew was part of the Stamp Act too so I don't see why they would just destroy one's house and not the other's
4. Why was the British official hung for making the Stamp Act? I mean yeah, the Stamp Act was stupid and sucked but why kill him instead of just having them take away the act? or punish him by kicking him out of power, destroying his house, or making him move somewhere else?
5. I think that while the mobs were out of control, they were really effective and it was a good way for the colonists to get their points across and have their beliefs heard.
I witnessed the action taken by the mob against Andrew Oliver and Thomas Hutchinson and the Sons of Liberty were justified in using the mob as a political tactic. All of the colonists hated the Stamp Act and didn't like it from the start especially after all the taxes that were imposed on them. The Sons of Liberty helped the colonists work together instead of doing nothing but complaining about the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act was just unfair and the colonists shouldn't have to pay it because people in England did not have to. Them using mobs to enforce their ideas and beliefs really made a big difference. The people of England follow the laws from the Magna Carta, and forcing taxes on the colonists goes against the laws of the Magna Carta. It's uncalled for with the people of England not having to pay the taxes of the Stamp Act but all the other colonists having to. The Sons of Liberty didn't have the best way to solve a problem, but they definitely had the most effective way and it seems like this is the only way to get their points across and to enforce what they want.
